Baton Rouge Cricket Club
The purpose of BRCC is to promote and develop the sport of cricket among the Greater Baton Rouge population through education, organization and competition as a non-profit organization.
BRCC currently has more than one hundred members, including both working class and student population that engage in recreational and competitive cricket. BRCC is also a member of the Louisiana Cricket Association along with five other clubs.
BRCC seeks support and welcomes any individuals or businesses to help sponsor the various tournaments and meet other cricketing and infrastructure needs of the organization.
Baton Rouge Cricket Club has been in existence since 2008, gradually becoming one of the most well-established cricket clubs in the State of Louisiana. Over the past few years, BRCC has significantly grown in strength, and now has a dedicated cricket field at State Fair Grounds on Airline Hwy. The strength of the club lies in its diversity, which includes both working and student population from Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. The club welcomes all players from both cricket-playing and non-playing nations, and is always on the lookout for new talent. In 2015, the Board of Members of BRCC decided to incorporate the club as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in order to strengthen the legal, social, and financial aspects of the club. Read more...
September 26-27 : BRPL
The basic concept of cricket is similar to that of baseball although the game play and rules are very different. Teams bat in successive innings and attempt to score runs, while the opposing team fields and attempts to bring an end to the batting team's innings. After each team has batted an equal number of innings (either one or two, depending on conditions chosen before the game), the team with the most runs wins.
